Koinonia & Gracepoint Berkeley Spring 2010

Koinonia Berkeley will be having a All-Frosh Dessert night tonight – with shaved ice and fondue making party…  Come join in on the fellowship with food, fun, fellowship with games and a time to catch up with each other before our retreat this weekend.  Try to make it to the retreat – life-transforming time…  Looking forward to all God has in store for us this new year of 2010.

Notes:
– We had a great time at our event this winter break:  Gracepoint Berkeley and Koinonia at Knott’s Berry Farm

– We had a blast going to different mission trips this winter break to: Taiwan, Mexico, and Cambodia – where we are able to do humanitarian work serving the people and sharing the gospel!

Gracepoint Berkeley & Koinonia: In Training…

Many of our members are in discipleship training as well as in physical training this summer!  There are a handful of us that are training to do the triathalon and marathon this summer and in the next handful of months.  Will keep you posted!

Gracepoint Berkeley Church Volunteers!

Tonight, we have our UC Berkeley – Koinonia, acts2fellowship, and Kairos Christian Fellowship tri-sponsored event: New Student Welcome Night!

It starts TODAY, August 27 @ 6pm @ Pauley Ballroom
There’s music, video, skits, and a brief talk… and most importantly (for some) some free Korean BBQ! Let’s pray for a wonderful evening welcoming many students to CAL!

Koinonia, Kairos, & A2F are the Christian fellowship campus groups that are joining up to put on the biggest ever New Student Welcome Night production! Each year we have over 1,000 students that come to our BBQ & Welcome night to find out more about who we are and what we do… come check it out and you won’t be disappointed.

30 Hour Famine @ Koinonia & Gracepoint

Did you know that EACH DAY, over 29,000 children die from PREVENTABLE diseases such as malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea, etc.? Malnutrition is associated with over half of those deaths. [stats by worldvision.org]

This is sobering information… I am so proud of my friends here at Koinonia Berkeley and at Gracepoint Berkeley Church for participating full force to raise funds to feed, support, and care for hungry children around the world through the World Vision program. Just Koinonia 2 itself, raised over $16,200 with the help of over 330 sponsors! And Gracepoint Berkeley Church as a whole (425 participants) raised $105,175 – amazing! This means we raised enough to feed dozens of children for a year. I’m excited to see how God will continue to use us as a church for His wonderful life-giving work.

Gracepoint Berkeley Church: College Ministry

Koinonia at Berkeley is a ministry of Gracepoint Berkeley. Many of the college students at Koinonia attend Gracepoint Berkeley Church next to campus, though some do not. This is not the official site of the Berkeley Koinonia Ministry, but a place where some alumni and sponsors of Koinonia can share some thoughts, highlights, and humor about life, people, and God.
